Algonquin Outfitters and the Town of Huntsville present a full day of paddles Saturday in the beautiful Algonquin Theatre in historic downtown Huntsville, on Culture Days' theme of "Creativity, Arts and Well-being". Explore incredibly creative paddle art up close and personal, and mix with neighbours -- and the artists -- in an inclusive, accessible, casual and fun commUNITY mixer suitable for all ages.

Saturday September 28th, 10 am to 4 pm

• Wild Temagami film at 1 pm

Come see what is carved, or painted, or burned, or bedazzled or turned into a banjo on 182 paddles. "The elements that inspire are still here."

Mysteriously and inexplicably, when Tom Thomson died in Algonquin Park in 1917, his paddle was never found. This mixer is a tribute to the forward thinking, "no holds barred" colourful creativity of Tom Thomson and all visionaries, and supports emerging and established artists in all genres, as well as funding arts organizations and art!

Artists' paid $30 plus their time to enter the contest; the community Culture Days events (Friday evening 3 to 6 pm and Saturday 10 am to 4 pm) are FREE.

Bidding to own a paddle in support of creativity in Huntsville and area is entirely optional. Proceeds to arts is a given. Keeping an open mind is mandatory. Having your socks blown off is highly likely. But don't worry, Algonquin Outfitters can suit ya up with a new set of dry kicks and kit for all your creative outdoor wellness adventures.
